Convention season for me is coming to a close soon. This is the time when I step away from my cosplay works and focus on artwork and models. My final convention for a while will be FanExpo 2015. I will be cosplaying Milla 2.0 on Saturday and hopefully do my shopping on Friday or Sunday.
I am aiming to complete my resin kit of Sailor Saturn sometime in September or October so that I can move onto either Princess Tutu or Seto Kaiba.
I am also working on a few youtube videos which may turn into tutorials or game review/play throughs. I am not sure yet as I am juggling my research with all of this as well.
For the next few months I will be narrowing down my choices for the next big cosplay. I currently have three options floating around in my mind:
I am a huge fan at making weapons, so my new rule for the moment is to find characters with one.
Eternal Sailor Saturn: this cosplay would be fun to make with all the different layers underneath the skirt and those big puffy orbed sleeves. The Glaive staff would be the item I would enjoy working on the most. I don’t see many Sailor Saturn cosplays anymore, and the ones that I do see do not have her iconic weapon. This girl needs more cosplay love in my opinion.
Magical Madoka Galaxy Version: She is very popular to cosplay lately at conventions. Just the other day at AFO 2015 I saw three roaming around. I am always a sucker for big long flowy gowns though. Plus the inside of her dress is breathtaking. The only problem I have is that I have learned from experience (the Rosalina cosplay) that long dresses + crowded convention halls = hell. So many people step on the long dresses and the possibility of a seam or two coming out is real. If I made this I would probably only present it at the contest and not wear it around the convention. I would use lots of LED lights for the bow and arrow prop, that is for sure.
Dark Magician Girl: With the 20 year anniversary of Yu-Gi-Oh! coming up this might be a good cosplay to show off. The bottom part of the dress concerns me due to the fact that it is a bit on the “fan service” side. I will probably have to find some nude-colored shorts to cover up a bit. Constructing the hat should be a fun challenge and I may have to break down and learn how to make shoes for the first time X-X.
I would like to hear anyone’s opinion or preference if they have any
